Reviews

With a very cogent style of writing, Bishop weaves a tale of spiritual warfare lightly interspersing quotes from the Holy Bible and interpretation as a foundation of good versus evil.  After unearthing a major archeological find of stone in the desert, it is quickly realized that the freeing of the rightfully buried brings about a wrath from hell unimagined.

Meanwhile, services continue at the Resurrection Church with Pastor Stone despite the mysterious disappearance of its Pastor for twenty years, Donald Stewart. A disappearance that occurred only after Stewart's bizarre twist in behavior - removing critical, traditional elements of the Christian Church and changing the prayer ceremonies which quickly took the focus of the parishioners off of God and on the church, instead.

Alongside services at the Resurrection Church, Isabelle Zenn follows her spiritual path at The New Life Foundation a foundation run by Michael Damious, a man obsessed with the occult, especially the use of black magic. Isabelle pays special attention to her spirit guide, Adder, who encourages her to bring more converts to the congregation and lead them on the path of new age enlightenment.  The war begins when Damious learns of Fox's escape.

A tale of good versus evil and Christian values versus new age beliefs, Bishop has woven an exemplary battle that will leave you wondering, "Is this a fable or truth?" The message of Bishop's "Resistance" is clear and gives the reader much pause for reflection as the forces of good and evil collide. An exemplary tale for the modern age and a must read for any faith.
